Children Portraits
Time goes by so quickly and before you know it, your newborn is a toddler….. then your toddler is a child….. and then your child is a teenager! So make sure you capture your kiddies pictures before it’s too late!
My portrait sessions for kids are never rushed, I allow them to be themselves, have fun, do some silly things, never have ask them smile for the camera, because it will come naturally. Not to worry about your kids being very noisy, most important is that we have fun!
Clothing changes are welcome and help add variety to your session. Too make the portrait timeless, avoid clothing in too trendy fashion and with big logo or cartoon character.
When should we come for a photo shoot?
There are lots of events in your children's live that make fantastic memories worth capturing on a photograph.
- When there's a new arrival to the family, capture those early interactions.
- Birthday
Your toddler is growing so quickly, yes, you'll be glad when they are over the terrible twos, but you don't want to miss capturing them on a photograph at this special age. The sparkle in their eyes, the smiles on their faces, those treasured expressions and developing personalities....you must record them for your future enjoyment.
When we arrange an appointment for a shoot, just let me know when works best for you and you little one.
What should my toddler and I expect at a photo shoot?
We need to discuss the kind of pictures you want to achieve. So the first thing we need to do is to find something to occupy your youngster; it's worth bringing a favourite toy for this purpose, we can also play some music if it will help.
Once we have concluded our conversation, it's time for your toddler to spring into action (if they haven't already); it's worth checking their clothing (no labels popping out of collars etc), adjusting hair if necessary and wiping noses. Everything should now be set for the start of the shoot.
Your toddler needs to be guild to the center of the shooting area, this is the area where they can play and explore whilst I take the photographs. I'll need you to talk to your youngster, get their attention etc. Depending upon what you are after, we can introduce different props into the shot. As the shoot progresses I will aim to cover all the pictures we discussed at the start. There will be small rest break between the session.
When I am sure we have got a suitable selection of photographs, we will finish the shoot.
Often, toddlers will want to see the their results of their efforts there and then. It's not a problem, they are very welcome to have a look at the camera's LCD screen before we move on to the next set of shots.
What happens after my shoot?
I process the images and make an initial selection of the best pictures, it will be uploaded in a private gallery at my website. When this is completed, you will be contacted by email for the viewing and selection. Usually will be ready within a week time.
You can make your photo selection and order online or via emails.
You can also request an appointment for in person consultant session for prints ordering.
